Meet our Chiros
Dr David Cooper
MChiro DC PGDip
I am the owner and chiropractor at Sure Health. My aim is to provide a dependable medical service excelling in the diagnosis and treatment of biomechanical disorders.
I have undertaken a full time 5 year University Masters’ degree in Chiropractic, leading to the qualification of Master of Chiropractic (MChiro). The initials DC stand for Doctor of Chiropractic, a title received from the UK governing body of chiropractic, the General Chiropractic Council.
The part of my job that I find most exciting is the diagnostic element. The mental workout provided by assessing complex cases and establishing a specific diagnosis keeps my job fresh and interesting, even after nearly a decade.
Helping those people who have been bounced from pillar to post with no progress, or who have been told they have to live with their symptoms, is also an incredibly rewarding aspect of being a chiropractor.
In my spare time I am usually doing some kind of sport, competing for Warrington Athletics Club in the 100m and 200m at present.
In addition to my Post-Graduate Diploma in Football Medicine, I have several coaching qualifications, and experience working within elite sports environments, from rowing clubs to dance companies.
I believe this background helps me deliver the best possible care to athletes. The challenge of finding the cause of injury in what is, essentially, a very healthy group of people makes working with athletes a very unique and enjoyable thing to do. I also feel that it helps to keep the rest of my practice at the cutting edge.
The correct use of scientific evidence in healthcare is something about which I am passionate, and this transfers through to Sure Health. All treatments offered are based on current evidence and scientific rationale, and are reviewed and updated constantly.
I am always happy to discuss any questions or issues you may have, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Dr Michael Parkin
MChiro DC PGDip
Michael completed his undergraduate degree at the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic, before post-graduate study at the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Since qualification in 2014 Michael has worked for a professional sports team and in primary care clinics, providing him with experience treating a wide variety of patients.
His passion lies in finding ways to improve a person’s resilience against future injury, both using manual therapy and exercise.
Michael has a lengthy list of postgraduate qualifications, including in kinesio-taping, advanced sports and exercise nutrition, corrective exercise and instrument assisted soft tissue mobilisation (IASTM).
As well as having trained in a range of different treatment modalities, Michael is also something of a rehabilitation expert. This year, Michael is hoping to complete his British Medical Acupuncture Society training as well as completing his MSc in Advanced Functional Musculoskeletal Health, which focuses on sports injury management, performance management and clinical rehabilitation.
Michael’s hobbies include Ice Hockey (which led to his first experience of chiropractic) and Martial Arts.
Like all of our chiropractors, Michael is registered with the General Chiropractic Council.
